Moments of Caring

Stemming from our Day of Caring, United Way’s Moments of Caring are about us recognizing and highlighting the many other things that people are and have been doing in our community that are making a difference.

What is a Moment of Caring? When you, individually or in a group intentionally do a project that makes a difference to your community.

How you can create your own Moment of Caring?

  • Think of a project to make a difference in your community- help an agency, school or individual with anything from resource creation, cleaning, painting, gardening, the possibilities are limitless.
  • Complete the project.
  • Make sure the project is intentional by reflecting on what you have done:
    • What difference did your project make to the people the project was intended to help
    • How was this project relevant to me?
    • What is it that you did and the difference it makes for you in moving forward, and understanding your community better.
  • Send us your stories and your photos! So we can post them on our Website.

The youth component of the Moments of Caring includes service-learning modules, helping build the good things that young people need to thrive.
