$5.39 per pay …allows a person with disability to go to and from work for one week.
$3.23 per pay …allows 3 physically disabled persons to go bowling one afternoon.

$1.25 per pay …provides a white cane to a person with vision loss.

$2.25 per pay …will pay for 2 ball hockey registrations.

Moncton Boys and Girls Club

$4.00 per pay … offers a child 17 development programs each week.

VON Moncton

$1.35 per pay …provides one session of foot care in a clinic setting to ensure that a senior can remain active and independent.

YWCA

$2.30 per pay …provides in take counseling, referral and follow up for individuals in need or crisis. 
$3.80 per pay …provides free psycho education to school aged children to prevent eating disturbances and body image problems.

South-East Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services

$1.75 per pay …provides an ear mould for a hearing aid.

Support to Single Parents

$2.00 per pay …provides nutrition snack/tea, coffee, milk, sugar for parents who are taking our program.

United Way Beach Volleyball Tournament a Great Success

Aug. 15, 2011

The 12th Annual United Way Beach Volleyball Tournament was held on August 6th at Parlee Beach in Shediac, sponsored by Asurion. Teams paid $100.00 entry fees. It was a clear day with a cool breeze- a great day to have fun in the sun and sand while raising funds for the local United Way!

Teams played until noon, then returned after lunch to resume play at 1 p.m. Playoffs filled most of the afternoon.

Congratulations to the winning team, “Sudden Impact” led by Team Captain Jason Steeves. Team members included Rachelle Ricahrd, Claire Coulter, Richard Gavin, Tom Lutes, and Katie Tymchyshen.

Trimway Landscaping took second spot led by Team Captain Chris LeBlanc. Team members included Anne Lavigne, Natasha Beal, Pedro Caro, Christien Landry, Cameron Wilson, and Ibrahim Nahri.

The “Just Dig It” team came in third led by Team Captain Shawna Stiles.Team members included Beth Purcell, Shawn Smith, Scott Richardson, and Dustin Tingley.

A 50/50 draw was also held with proceeds to the United Way. The winner was Chris Gravelle. A door prize that was donated by Good Life Fitness was won by Dustin Tingley.

The day was a great success with a total of $1, 382.00 raised for the United Way!
